Ville Platte- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at 1:30pm in Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church for Mr. George M. Vidrine, 97. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Belaire Cove Mausoleum. Fr. Randy Moreau will officiate the services.

Mr. Vidrine, a resident of Ville Platte, died Monday, February 19, 2007 at 10:45pm in Ville Platte Medical Center. He was a farmer in his early years of life and then went on to work for T.H. Harris Vocational School in Opelousas as a janitor until retirement.

Survivors include two sons, Purvis Vidrine of Belaire Cove and Norwood Vidrine of Sunset; three daughters, Dorothy Fontenot of Belaire Cove, Ruth Fontenot of Belaire Cove, and Rella Fontenot of Ville Platte; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by a son, Clanny Vidrine.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 from 3pm until 10pm and on Wednesday, from 8am until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6pm on Tuesday.
