VILLE PLATTE – Funeral Services will be held at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte, on Thursday, January 28, 2021 for Frank B. Deville, 84, who passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
Father Mitch Guidry, pastor of Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and conduct services.
Burial will take place in Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
Frank B. Deville was born on October 11, 1936 in Vidrine, LA to Guillium and Leisa Shuff Deville. Frank courageously served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. He was a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of Our Lady Queen of All Saints, where he and his family attended mass regularly. Frank was an excellent provider for his family. He loved his family with all his heart and did everything he could to ensure their success. Frank was a commercial fisherman. He spent most of his time on the waters of White Lake and the Atchafalaya Basin. He fabricated ad constructed his own crab traps, shrimp nets and hoop nets. Frank will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his son, Steven Deville and wife, Verona of Springfeld, IL; daughters, Sheila Deville of Ville Platte and Sallie Deville Sonnier and husband, Dennis of Ville Platte; grandchildren, Dawn Deville Wietfedlt and husband, Joel of Springfield, IL, Zack Deville and wife, Brigette of Inlet Beach, FL, Joshua Deville and wife, Danee of Duson, Sammie Ashley and husband, Dayne of Alexandria, Tasha Johnson and husband, Travis of Ville Platte, Randi Fontenot and husband, Jeremy of Ville Platte, and Shae Pierrottie of Pine Prairie; sixteen great grandchildren; and brothers, Butler Deville of California and Terrel Deville and wife, Carol of Ruston.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Anna Belle Fontenot Deville; parents, Guillium and Leisa Shuff Deville; and sister, Bernella Fontenot.
At the request of the family, visitation will take place at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte of Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 9:00 AM until 1:15 PM. A rosary will be recited by Father Mitch Guidry at 1:15 PM on Thursday.
