Ville Platte It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Floyd Te Red Fontenot announces the passing of a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the age of 80. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel. Rite of Committal will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Steven Sawtell of Freedom Family Church officiate.
Floyd served his country proudly as a member of the United States Army in the Korean War. He will always be lovingly remembered by all who knew him, especially his beloved wife, Geraldine C. Fontenot of Ville Platte one son, Scott Fontenot of Ville Platte three daughters, Tami Courville and husband, Keith of Reddell, Yvette Dunn and husband, Wesley of Monroe, and Monique Deville and husband, Acky of Ville Platte two brothers, Joseph Dewey Fontenot, Jr. of Ville Platte and Herman Paul Fontenot of Eunice ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He now rest in Heaven with his parents, Joseph Dewey and Ollie Fontenot two brothers, John Sylvan Fontenot and Percy Fontenot and two sisters, Bernadette Nichols and Ella Mae Guillory.
At the request of the family visitation will be held Wednesday, October 6, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, October 7, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
The family of Floyd would like to extend a special thank you to Louisiana Hospice of Mamou.
