VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness that the family of Evelyn D. Loot Fontenot, 88, announces her passing on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Opelousas General Hospital. A mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, December 27, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Our Lady Queen of all Saints Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery with Fr. Romero celebrant.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are three nieces Mrs. John Arnaud of Patterson, Mrs. Jessie Taylor of Arnaudville, Mrs. Larry Broussard of Arnaudville and her nephew Lino Mauro Cerda of Tyler, Texas.
She now rests in heaven with her husband Octave F. Fontenot, her brother Jeffery Dekerlegand, her sister Eunice Cerda and her husband Lino Cerda and her nephew Carlton Dekerlegand.
At the request of the family visitation will be held Monday, December 27, 2010 from 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited Monday at 1:15 PM.
