Funeral services for Ernestine O. Fontenot, 93, will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at 3:30pm in Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery. Fr. Randall Moreau will officiate the services.

Mrs. Fontenot, along with her husband were farmers as well as operators of a grocery store in Whiteville for many years. She was also a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She passed away at her residence on Tuesday, December 05, 2006 at 1:00am.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary F. Smith of Shuteston; four sons, Joseph Fontenot and wife, Georgiana of Ville Platte, Noral Fontenot and wife, Beatrice of DeRidder, Donald Fontenot and wife, Beverly of DeRidder, and Kenneth Fontenot and wife, Sandra of Sunset; two brothers, Louis Ortego of Lake Charles and Willie Ortego and wife, Una Mae of Lake Charles; three sisters, Louise O. Sylvester of Grand Prairie, Armenia O. Soileau of Ville Platte, and Mary Mae O. Vidrine and husband, Clifford of Ville Platte; eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 05, 2006 from 4:30pm until 10:30pm and on Wednesday 8am until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7pm Tuesday.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Fontenot, an infant son, son in law, Dr. Seymore J. Smith; brothers, Gilbert, Olide, and Wilton Ortego; a sister, Thelma O. Soileau; and her parents, Emile and Lovinia Ortego.
