VILLE PLATTE - Erline Ardoin Palmer was born in Ville Platte, on May 9, 1924 to the late Ilfred and Edia Ardoin. She had a very prosperous life and possessed many talents. Erline was an AVON representative and beauty consultant for over 30 years. She achieved the honor of being the region's top consultant. Erline was known as a fabulous baker and cook; some of her specialties included lemon bars, peanut butter fudge, and chicken and dumplings. Another of her great talents was that of being a seamstress; she created many beautiful clothing items over the years. Erline prided herself as being a faithful Christian and was an active member of Our Lady Queen of all Saints Catholic Church. Praying the rosary on a daily basis was an important part of her life and she enjoyed leading the rosary at the Village De Memoire. Erline was very active in her community serving in the American Legion Lady's Auxiliary, Elks Lodge, and VFW.
Her greatest love was her family. Left behind to cherish her memory are her son William Brice Palmer and his wife Shyla of Lake Charles, daughter Dawana Palmer Vidrine of Ville Platte, and brother John Cecil Ardoin and his wife Kathy of Shreveport. Erline will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Toby Palmer, Max Palmer, Brandon James Vidrine, Brittany Nicole Vidrine, and Lyla Inez Palmer and her great grandchildren: Julian, Lexy, and Andrya Palmer and Connor Francis Palmer. She is also survived by her cherished nieces and nephews.
She now joins in heaven her parents Ilfred and Edia Ardoin, husband William Thomas "Cotton" Palmer, daughter Janna Lynn Palmer, brothers Edison Ardoin and wife Maude and John Webb Ardoin and wife Rena, sisters Careina Ardoin Fontenot and Claudia Ardoin.
A time of remembrance will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A rosary will be prayed in her honor Monday evening at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 8:00 AM until time of service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 1:00 PM at Our Lady Queen of all Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Fontenot Cemetery in Pine Prairie.
