Ville Platte- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday, January 30, 2017 for Ms. Emma Joy Demoruelle at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Burial will follow at Gates of Heaven Cemetery.

Ms. Demoruelle, age 84 and a resident of Ville Platte, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017.

Ms. Emma Joy started working as one of the ten operators for the telephone company in Ville Platte in 1950. In 1959, she was promoted to chief operator. When the Ville Platte toll center closed down, she transferred and moved to Welsh to work as the toll center supervisor. After 40 years of working for Century Link she returned to Ville Platte to be with her family. Ms. Demoruelle made many friends throughout her career. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her brother, John Louis Demoruelle and wife Katrina; sister, Shirley Vidrine; nieces, Ann Vidrine, Sybil Vidrine and Connie Vidrine; and nephews, Jean-Paul Demoruelle and Joshua Demoruelle.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Blanche "Cot" Demoruelle; and sister, Kathy Demoruelle.

At the request of the family, visitation will take place at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be prayed in her honor Monday at 11:30 AM.
