VILLE PLATTE It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Emilie Landreneau Fontenot, 72, announces her passing from this world to join her Savior in the next. She passed away peacefully Friday May 30, 2014 at Promise Hospital of Baton Rouge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Monday, June 2, 2014 at The Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church of Ville Platte with Rite of Committal to follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery Father Jason Vidrine will officiate the services.
Emilie was a homemaker and she devoted her life to the health, happiness and well being of her beloved family. She will be deeply mourned by her two sons: Tony Dale Fontenot and Joseph Gary Fontenot and his wife, Daffle Lynn, both of Baton Rouge. Her memory will be forever cherished by her precious grandchild, Alicia Garrison and her husband, Joseph of Dry Prong and her great grandchild, Kinsley Pretty Girl Garrison they were the absolute light of her life. Also left behind to mourn, her siblings: Clinton James Landreneau and his wife, Sherry of Mamou, Turner John Landreneau and his wife, Elaine of Branch and Annadine L. Smart of Lake Charles. Emilie will be fondly remembered by all whom were lucky enough to have crossed paths with her during her journey here on earth.
She will now reunite in Heaven with the love of her life, her husband, Harry Lee Fontenot and their son, Ricky James Fontenot. She will also be welcomed by her dear parents, Adam and Ethel Bass Landreneau and two brothers, Hoover Landreneau and Christopher James Landreneau. They all await her arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the Fontenots, visitation will take place at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 9:00 AM Sunday, June 1, 2014 and will continue until 10:00 PM that evening and will resume at 8:00 AM Monday, June 2, 2014 and continue until the time of the services. A Rosary will be recited in her honor Sunday evening at 6:00 PM.
