VILLE PLATTE - Funeral service will be held at a 1:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, for Elward Joseph Craig "Blue" Soileau, 63, who passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019.
Father Mitch Guidry, pastor of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and will officiate the service.
Burial will take place in Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery.
Blue was born in Ville Platte on October 12, 1955 to Harold "LaLou" and Betty Soileau. Blue enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, raising race horses, and he was obsessed with watching western films.
He is survived by his daughter, Shallie Carson and husband Andy of Pine Prairie; one son, Jacob Soileau of Pine Prairie; four grandsons, Sylus, Kyler, Cooper, and Carter; one step-sister, Deborah Guillory and Dale of Lecompte; as well as numerous family and friends.
He is preceded by his parents, Harold "LaLou" and Betty Soileau; one brother, Joey Soileau; one grandson, Tydan Carson; step-mother, Eleanor Soileau; one step-sister, Ellen Moran; and one step-brother, Robert Moran.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Tuesday, April 15, 2019 from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Ben Soileau at 6:00 PM Tuesday. Visitation will resume on Wednesday from 8:00 am until time of service.
