Ville Platte Funeral services for Mr.Eloi Vidrine, 87, of Morrow will be held Friday, July 4, 2008 at 10am in St. Peters Catholic Church in Morrow, La. Burial will follow in the St. Peters Mausoleum. Fr. Mike Guidry will officiate the services.
Mr. Vidrine, a resident of Morrow and a native of Ville Platte, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 10:20am at his residence surrounded by family. He is a US Army veteran of WWII, a member of the American Legion in Washington, and an avid Cajun Musician.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother he is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lela D. Vidrine of Morrow; two sons, Stephen Paul Vidrine of Baton Rouge and Don Richard Vidrine and wife, Paula of Helena, MT.; three daughters, Joana Marie Vidrine Borges and husband, Louis of Lafayette, Linda Angela Vidrine Funchess and husband, Mac of Folsom, and Anita Faye Vidrine Parker and husband, David of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Hurley Vidrine of Ville Platte and Bobby Vidrine of Denham Springs; one sister, Lena Belle Vidrine of Ville Platte; and eight grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leandre and Linda Vidrine and a step mother, Ludy Vidrine.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 3, 2008 from 4pm-10pm in Ardoins Funeral Home and on Friday, July 4, 2008 from 9am until time of services in the church. A rosary will be recited 7pm Thursday.
Pallbearers for the services will be Louis and Ryan Borges, Mac and Chase Funchess, David and Dylan Parker.
