Elaine Fontenot Soileau

VILLE PLATTE – Elaine Fontenot Soileau passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family in Opelousas, LA, on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the age of 86.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church at 1:00 PM.  A Burial will follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Mausoleum. Father Alex Lancon will be Celebrant over the services.

Elaine was born on February 15, 1938, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, to her late parents Wilson Fontenot and Panney Dupuis Fontenot. She was the owner and operator of Elaine’s Beauty Shop for over 50 years, making her a well-known hairdresser. 

She had a passion for entertaining, cooking, and baking. Elaine brought joy to those around her with her infectious laughter and kind spirit, leaving a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Elaine will be missed deeply by her children, Cedric Soileau of Ville Platte, LA, Dexter Soileau (Becky) of Marksville, LA and Jenny Soileau Beauregard of Bellevue, LA; her sister, Jane Fontenot Guillory of Mamou, LA; her six grandchildren, Bridget Soileau, Cade Soileau (Kayla), Alex Soileau Mahfouz (Nick), Travis Soileau, Erica Soileau, and Edward Beauregard (Madison) and her six great-grandchildren. 

She is proceeded in death by her loving husband, Terrel Gene Soileau; her parents; her brothers, Max Wilton Fontenot, and Frankie Fontenot; her sisters, Loretta Fontenot Berthelot and Patty Ruth Fontenot; her son-in-law, Eddie Beauregard and her daughter-in-law, Rouchelle Soileau.

At the request of the family, a Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, beginning at 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM with a Rosary being prayed at 12:00 PM by Deacon Chuck Ortego.
