Edna Ortego

VILLE PLATTE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Edna Ortego at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Pine Prairie, LA.  Father Kenneth Mayne will celebrate the Mass.  Burial will take place in St. Peter Cemetery.

Edna Ortego, 94, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022, in Sulphur, LA. She was born on April 26, 1927 in Pine Prairie, LA to Eugene and Natilia Ortego.

She is survived by her niece, Loretta O. Veillon and husband, J.L. of Lafayette; three nephews, Joseph Harold Thibodeaux and wife, Janet of Vinton, Kenneth Soileau and wife, Raenell of Mississippi, and Nolan Soileau and wife, Nell of Turkey Creek.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Natilia Ortego; two sisters, Annie Thibodeaux and Dinah Soileau; brother, Leonard Ortego; nephew, Gregory Soileau; and niece, Betty O. Gilchrist.

Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, from 10:00 AM until time of service.  A rosary will be led by Deacon Gary Gaudin at 12:30 PM.
