Dorothy June Dupre

PINE PRAIRIE - June Dupre, lovingly known to all as "Junebug," passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the age of 91.

Born on June 30, 1933, June was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was marked by an enchanting spirit. She often filled her home with sweet melodies, dancing with the grace of someone touched by magic. Her laughter was infectious, and her sense of humor made even the ordinary moments extraordinary. Those fortunate enough to spend time with her will always remember how she brought to life the beautiful stories of her childhood, captivating her audience with every word.

As a military wife to her late husband, James L. Dupre, she embodied strength and support, standing by him through their journey together. The love they shared was a testament to enduring companionship, and though James was no longer by her side, his spirit lived on through the love they cultivated as a family.

June’s passions extended beyond her role as a mother and grandmother. She had a deep affection for flowers, especially spider lilies, which mirrored her vibrant personality. Those who knew her will fondly recall her love for a good cup of tea, the way she would brighten a room with her presence, and her playful teasing that kept everyone smiling. Black licorice was her guilty pleasure, and she embraced each day with a youthful exuberance that inspired those around her.

She leaves behind her son, Robert Dupre, and her cherished grandchildren, Robert J. Dupre, Jr. and Jessica A. Dupre. Her legacy continues with her great-grandchildren, Delton P. Vidrine, David J. Vidrine, and Madison Vidrine, who were always a source of immense pride and joy in her life.

June was preceded in death by her loving husband, James L. Dupre, as well as her sons, Paul A. Dupre and David J. Dupre and her parents, Trevor and Lillian Thomas.
