BAYOU CHICOT - A Funeral Service will be held for Doris Elizabeth Carlin Rollins at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte, LA.  Burial will take place in Ferguson Cemetery.

Doris Elizabeth Carlin Rollins, 88, passed away on peacefully on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou, LA. Doris was a compassionate, loving, and caring mother and grandmother. She loved and served God, her church, and her community.  She was known as the “Backwoods Lawyer”.  Doris took care of so many children and so many things for people who were in need.  She had a true servant’s heart.  She enjoyed reading and watching sports. Doris will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her three children, Katheryn Phillips of Bayou Chicot, Jimmy Rollins, Sr. and wife Rosemary of Bayou Chicot, and Melany “Mandy” Smith and husband, Todd of Bayou Chicot; six grandchildren, Tammy Phillips, Jimmy Rollins, Jr. and wife, Tiffany of Pine Prairie, Jeremiah Rollins, Naomi Elizabeth Smith, Bailee Luke Smith, and Koby Isaac Smith; six great-grandchildren, Trulie Jagneaux, Cleveland Jagneaux, Cole Rollins, Blake Rollins, Jase Rollins, Jemmah Rollins; sister, Gloria Chapman of Longview, TX; and brother, Jimmy Carlin of Monroe, LA.  Also left behind to cherish her memory, her great niece whom she loved dearly and held a special place in her heart, Ruby Diane Rollins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dudley Rollins; parents, Willard and Ethel Meyers Carlin; and siblings, Helen Kemp, Isabelle Libsey, Delores Holden, Francis Null, Sue Null, Alberta Meyers, Billy Carlin, and Willie Carlin.

Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
