VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Manuel, 78, announces his passing on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Savoy Medical Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 10:00 am at Our Lady Queen of all Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Father Richard Vidrine celebrant.

He will be remembered as a local business owner and a veteran of the Korean war. A loving father, grandfather, and brother, Mr. Manuel will be lovingly remembered by his son Donny Manuel and wife Denise of Ville Platte, his daughter, Nita Soileau and husband Johnny of Ville Platte, two sisters Ruth Soileau of Ville Platte and Barbara Fontenot of Mamou, and four grandchildren Minette Thibodeaux of Ville Platte, Cody Aguillard of Chicago, Illinois, Lainey Manuel of Lafayette, and Lauren Manuel of Ville Platte.

The family request that visiting hours be observed Tuesday, June 16, 2009 from 3:30 PM until 10:00 PM and again on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 from 8:00 AM until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM Tuesday evening.
