VILLE PLATTE - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Don Wayne Lafleur, 73, announces his passing on Monday, September 7, 2015 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte. Burial will follow in the Platin Cemetery.
Don Wayne was a veteran, having proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard. One of his greatest joys during his life was that of being an accomplished musician, drummer, and singer. Don Wayne also took great pride in being a loving father to his son Clint Lafleur of Ville Platte, step-son Justin Lafleur of Grand Prairie, and three daughters: Connie Cheramie Hall and husband David of Hattisburg, Mississippi, Tammy Lafleur Kalb of Lafayette, and Tressa Lafleur Fontenot and husband Doug of Lafayette. Also left behind to cherish his memory is his former wife Judy Lafleur of Grand Prairie, brother John Burke Lafleur of Mamou, sister Betty Lafleur Hight and husband Bill of Mamou, and ten grandchildren: Kade, Alex, Dylan, Dustin, Christopher, Taylor, Summer, Jaxtyn, Edison, and Rachell.
He now rests with his parents Joseph Kirtly and Anna Lafleur and his brother Joseph Kirtly Lafleur, Jr. Their reunion is sure to be a joyous one filled with laughter and music.
At the request of the Lafleur family, a visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM and again on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 8:00 AM until time of service. A tribute to the life of Don Wayne Lafleur will be held Tuesday evening at 6:30 PM.
