VILLE PLAATE - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Delores Pitre Chapman, 77, announces her passing on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ville Platte. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 4:00 PM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the B. J. Fontenot Cemetery with Father Tom Voorhies Celebrant.
Working in her flower beds, sewing, embroidering, and baking for family and friends were among the many things Delores enjoyed doing. Her greatest love was that of spending time with and making a happy home for her beloved husband, Rayford John Chapman. Their 57 years of married life together will provide him with many cherished memories. Delores will also by deeply missed by her brother-in-law Eldon Chapman and wife Margie of Belaire Cove, her three nieces Phyllis Fontenot and husband Tony of Duson, Kerria Soileau and husband Grant of Ville Platte, and Cheryl Lebas and husband Mackie also of Ville Platte, and two nephews Errol Chapman and Andrew Chapman and wife Cathy all of Belaire Cove.
She now rests in Heaven with her parents Madison and Elna Fontenot Pitre.
At the request of the Chapman family, visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte from 8:00 AM until time of services. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 3:00 PM.
