David "Matoe" Courville

VILLE PLATTE – Private Funeral Services will be held for David “Matoe” M. Courville, 57, who passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021.

Pastor Brian Dore will conduct funeral services.

Daivd “Matoe” M. Courville was born on January 1, 1964, in Mamou, Louisiana to Berkman Joseph Courville and Mary Ann Deshotel Courville. He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, cooking, and tending to his animals.  He was the owner of David and Lori’s in Mamou and The Bait Stand in Pine Prairie.  He was a loving husband, son, father, and grandfather.  His family and friends will miss his dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lori Courville; his mother, Mary Ann Courville; three sons, Christopher Courville and wife, Mendy of Pine Prairie, Courtney Courville and companion, Ashley Fontenot of Easton and Collin Courville and wife, Lacie of Pine Prairie; daughter, Caitlyn Courville and companion, Casey Fontenot of Reddell; twelve grandchildren; Allionna, Kyler, David Michael, Cayden, Karson, Lillie Jo, Kaisley, Caleb, Baileigh, Landon, Zaiden and one on the way; two brothers; and one sister.

He is preceded in death by his father, Berkman Joseph Courville.
