ST. LANDRYIt is with great sadness that the family of David Lee Fontenot, 61, announces his untimely passing. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Ville Platte. Fr. Mario Romero will officiate the services.
A loving father, grandfather and brother, David is survived by his three beloved daughters, Jennifer Fontenot and her husband, Neil, of Washington, Elaine Holden of Eunice and Lynette Blackburn of Youngsville. He also leaves behind his two precious grandchildren, Gregory Alexander Guillory and Jillian Blackburn. His memory will also be cherished by his five brothers, three sisters and a host of other family and friends.
David made his living as a house painter but his spare time was spent among his family and friends. He loved to follow both L.S.U. and Saints football, work in his yard and care for his pet bird, Bernie Mack.
He was preceded in death by his only son, Gregory Keith Fontenot and his parents, John and Olga Fontenot.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited Thursday afternoon at 3:00 PM.
