VILLE PLATTE It is with heavy hearts that the family of Darlene Zimmer Deville, 64, announces her leaving this world to join her Savior in the next she passed away Monday, July 29, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center of Lafayette after a brief illness. A Funeral of Christian Burial will take place at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Ville Platte with burial to follow in the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery. Reverend Kevin West will officiate the services.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Darlene leaves behind her beloved husband of thirty nine years, Cammey Deville. She will be deeply missed by her three sons: Michael L. Harrington and his wife, Elizabeth of Pensacola, Fl., David Sean Deville of Lafayette and Jonathan Cammey Deville of Ville Platte. Darlene also leaves behind a daughterinlaw, Amanda Courville Harrington of Lafayette. She was blessed with five grandchildren: Erin Dee Harrington, James Monroe Harrington III, Michelle Ann Harrington, Jillian Megan Harrington and Devin Bryce Harrington they were her absolute greatest joy in life. Also left behind, her two sisters: Theresa Zimmer Mayeaux of Marksville and Jeanne Drexel and her husband, Paul of Ville Platte.
Darlene was a homemaker and she devoted her life to the care and well being of her beloved family she was a kind and generous woman and spending time with family and friends brought great joy to her life. She was a woman of strong faith and she dedicated herself to sharing that faith with her Sunday school students at the First Baptist Church for thirty years. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and canning fresh fruits and vegetables.
Darlene will be carried to her final resting place by Michael Harrington, David Deville, Michelle Harrington, Monroe Harrington, Devin Harrington, Ken Bordelon and honorary pall bearer, Jonathan Deville.
Darlene will now reunite in Heaven with her son, James Monroe Harrington, Jr., her parents, Clarence and Della Ducote Zimmer, a sister, Colleen Zimmer Soileau and two brothers, Clarence J. Zimmer, Jr. and Robert Leroy Boleyn, Jr. They most certainly await her arrival with open and joyous hearts.
At the request of the Deville family visitation will take place at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 31, 2013 and will continue until 10:00 PM that evening. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 AM Thursday morning and remain so until the time of service.
