Ville Platte It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Daniel James Fontenot, Sr. announces his passing on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Mercy Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Ville Platte with burial at Platin Cemetery with Rev. Kevin West officiate.
As an avid hunter and fisherman, Daniel had a passion for cooking outside and listening to Cajun music but, his greatest passion was to spend time with his family.
Daniel leaves behind a loving and caring family who will always cherish his memory including his wife, Norma Jean Jagneaux Fontenot of Ville Platte one son, Daniel James Fotnenot, Jr. and his wife, Angela of Reddell one step son, Kenneth Catoire and his wife, Bridget of Reddell two step daughters, Jeanise Elkins and her husband, Jeff of Ville Platte and Linda Lafleur and her husband, Josh of Ville Platte ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He now rests in Heaven with his parents, Marcena and Altea Fontenot and a brother, Harrison Fontenot.
At the request of the family visitation will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until time of services on Thursday.
