VILLE PLATTEIt is with great sadness that the family of Cynthia Gammie Ortego, 58, announces her passing on Sunday, September 2, 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 06, 2012 at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church of Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow at the M. B. Fontenot Cemetery with Fr. Mitchell Guidry as Celebrant. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Cynthia leaves behind her loving husband, Dale Ortego of Vidrine, her only son, Chet Ortego of Ville Platte and her two daughters, Brook Bourque and husband, Randy, of Pine Prairie and Bridget Brunet and husband, Richard of Point Blue. She will be sadly missed by her brother, David Ortego of Eunice and her sister and brotherinlaw, Susan and David Roberie of Ville Platte. Her memory will most certainly be cherished by her five beloved grandchildren: Randi Bourque, Hannah Bourque, Lillian Bourque, Dariane Vidrine and Jobe Brunet they were truly the light of her life. Cynthia also leaves behind her friend and companion, her cherished little dog, Poochie Girl.
She now joins in Heaven her dear parents, Lindsey and Isebelle Vidrine Ortego and a sisterinlaw, Hazel Ortego they await her arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM that evening and again Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 8:00 AM and continuing until the time of the service. A Rosary will be recited in her honor Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM.
