Ville Platte Funeral service for Mr. Conrad Lester Ardoin, 77, will be held Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 12pm in Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Gates of Heaven Mausoleum. Fr. Randall Moreau will officate the services.
Mr. Ardoin, a native and a resident of Ville Platte, died Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 5:50am in Evangeline Extended Care Hospital in Mamou.
Mr. Ardoin was a star football player at Sacred Heart School and received numerous scholarship offers and accepted the scholarship at Tulane University. He owned and operated Conrads Jewelers in Ville Platte and Eunice from 1978 until retirement in 1998. He was also part owner of Lamm Foods Services. Mr. Ardoin served in the Korean War, a member of the V.F.W., D.A.V. and American Legion and was the State Commander of the Disabled American Veterans and also for DAV Chapter 41 in Ville Platte for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Joline Manuel Ardoin of Ville Platte; two daughters, Letita A. Vidrine and husband, Daniel Paul of Ville Platte and Katherine Harriet Fontenot and husband, Gerald of Grand Prairie; seven grandchildren, Lauren Garcille, Rachel Vidrine, Constance Dubroc, Joshua and Jacob Fontenot, Michael Vidrine, and Jami Fontenot and three grandchildren, Joshua Garcille, Kristin Lege, and Nicholas Dubroc.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Eude Ardoin and a granddaughter, Joni Katherine Fontenot.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 29, 2007 from 7am until 10pm and on Saturday from 7am until time of services. A rosary will be held at 6pm Friday. There will be a veterans service at 11am Saturday.
