VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Charles Wilbur Gauthier, 67, announces his passing on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Mississippi Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 26, 2012 at 2:00 PM at St. Peters Catholic Church in Pine Prairie, Louisiana. Interment will follow in the Ortego Cemetery with Father Richard Broussard as celebrant.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Wilbur will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years Sonia Gauthier of Pearl, Mississippi, three sons Kevin Gauthier of Pearl, Mississippi, Chad Gauthier and wife Rebecca of Pine Prairie, Louisiana, and James Gauthier and wife Barbara of Mendenhall, Mississippi, one daughter Angela Davidson and husband Paul of Brandon, Mississippi, one brother Jon Thomas and wife Charline of Pine Prairie, Louisiana, 14 grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
He now rests in heaven with his parents Woodrow and Velma Thomas, his grandparents Elais and Madeline Johnson, his brother Carl Ed Thomas, and his grandson Nicholas Barnes.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM and again on Monday, March 26, 2012 from 8:00 AM until 1:15 PM. A rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 7:00 PM.
