Funeral services for Mr. Carlwin Rider, 65, will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at 3pm in Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte. Burial will follow in the Platin Cemetery. Rev. Kevin West will officiate the services.

Mr. Rider, a resident of Pine Prairie, died Tuesday, August 29, 2006 in the Prairie Manor Nursing Home at 9:55 am. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Rider also worked at the Pine Shadows Golf Course in Lake Charles.

Survivors include his mother, Viola Guillory Rider of Ville Platte; two sons, Kevin Anthony Rider and wife, Susan of Vidor, Tx and Eric Paul Rider and wife, Charlene of Vidor, Tx; one daughter, Shelley Dineen Buford and husband, Greg of Vidor, Tx; two brothers, Ronald Rider and Mike Rider both of Lake Charles; one sister, Susan Fontenot of Houston, Tx; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 30, 2006 from 11:30am until time of services on Wednesday.

Mr. Rider is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Rider.

Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte is in charge of arrangements.
