VILLE PLATTE - A Memorial Mass will be held for Caledonia, 83, who passed away on April 10, 2019 in Opelousas, LA surrounded by her loved ones, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Ville Platte. A reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Ville Platte.
Caledonia Fontenot was born on August 19, 1935 in Mamou, LA to Roy C. and Euna Fusilier Fontenot. She retired from the Evangeline Parish School Board where she worked many years in the cafeteria.
She is survived by her four children, Anthony Craig Fontenot and wife Beth of Natchitoches, Patrick Neal Fontenot and wife Angela of Washington, Kathanell F. Meyers-Dupre and husband Anthony of Washington, and David Blaine Fontenot and wife Nicole of Washington; twelve grandchildren, Derrick Anthony Fontenot, Brooke Fontenot, Jonathan Fontenot, Cade Fontenot, Dr. Ranae Fontenot, Benjamin Fontenot, Camille Fontenot, Samuel Meyers, Jeromie Lavergne, Courtney Hebert, Frankie Lavergne, and Alexis Taylor; and fifteen great grandchildren, Ethan Alexander Karonika, Kynleigh Reese Fontenot, Ada Katherine Fontenot, Aaron Douglas Walsh, Ellis Camille Fontenot, Gracelyn Ludaie Fontenot, Abigail Marie Walsh, Madeliene Rae Fontenot, Bentley Wyatt Lavergne, Rhylee Grace Lavergne, Erron Taylor Hebert, Rylan Blake Hebert, Finley Carter Hebert, Kagen James Fontenot, and Emma Marie Fontenot.
She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Aaron Fontenot who passed away on April 24, 2007, her parents, two brothers Richard Fontenot and Luther Fontenot.
