Bob Ardoin

VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services will be held at a 12:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Saturday, January 7, 2023, for Bob Ardoin, 74, who passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023.

Father Andrew Killeen will be celebrant of the Mass and conduct funeral services. Entombment will take place in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum.

Bob Ardoin went to meet his Lord and Savior at 1:21 PM on Monday, January 2, 2023. He was born February 24, 1948, in Mamou, LA to Valentine and Dolicia Ardoin. He was married to his loving wife, Sarah May Ardoin, for 33 years. Bob was a U.S. Marine, having served for two years during the Viet Nam War. He was a very faithful and religious man, praying early in the morning for a few hours every day.

Bob was a people-person who loved to talk about anything for hours. This gift aided him in his life-long career as a sales rep, working for Maurice Sporting Goods and Wurth, where he sold auto and body parts. Bob retired in 2017 and dedicated his time to his passion: woodworking. He made cutting boards, cake stands, and various wooden artwork. These handcrafted items will become treasured heirlooms for his family. Bob built his camp in St. Landry, adding on to it over the years, eventually turning it into a loving home for his family. His greatest joy was spending time with his family; he dearly loved them and would do anything for them.

Left behind to cherish his memory are: his wife, Sarah May Ardoin; son, Cale Dupre and wife, Diane; two grandchildren, Zack Dupre and wife, Joy, and Paige Dupre; two great-grandchildren, Mikayla and Theo Dupre; his brother, Wayne Ardoin; and sister, Laura Ardoin Lavergne.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Valentine and Dolicia Ardoin; sister, Joyce Henderson and her husband, Dudley; and brother-in-law, Felix Lavergne.

At the request of the family, visitation will be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Friday, January 6, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Ben Soileau on Friday at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 8:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 PM.
