Ville Platte Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Mae Davenport, 94, will be held Thursday, January 31, 2008 at 6:30pm at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Kitchens Cemetery in Zavalla, TX. Pastor Ernest Brown will officiate the services.

Mrs. Davenport, a resident of Ville Platte, died Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 9:15 p.m. in Ville Platte Medical Center.

Survivors include four sons, Alfonza Davenport, Jr. of Poplarville, MS., James Ezra Davenport of Moss Bluff, Billy Joe Davenport of Lafayette, and Robert Dale Davenport of Ville Platte; three daughters, Wilma Joyce Helmer of Ville Platte; Geraldine Yvonne Barland of Lumberton, TX., and Margaret Ann Tremie of Lafayette; twenty one grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfonza Red Davenport, Sr. and a daughter, Shirley Joan Soileau.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Thursday, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.
