Arthur "Bubba" Lloyd Rozas
Ville Platte - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Arthur L. Rozas, age 89, on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Father Conley Bertrand will celebrate the mass, Father Darren Eldridge and Deacon Chuck Ortego will con-celebrate and Deacon David Rozas will deliver the homily.
Mr. Rozas, a resident of Chataignier, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at his residence surrounded by family at his bedside in prayer.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Monday, December 19, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. It will continue at 8:00 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday, December 20, 2016. A rosary will be prayed in Mr. Rozas honor Monday evening at 6:00 p.m.
Bubba is a WW2 veteran as a Merchant Marine Sailor. He was retired from a petroleum pipeline operating company as a plant operator; he was also a second generation farmer and cattleman, as well as, a past president of the Chataignier Waters System for many years. Mr. Bubba was a third-degree Knight of Columbus. He was an avid member of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel church community. Bubba was an inspiring and loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his sons, Cecil Martin Rozas and wife Beverly Landry of Chataignier, Kent David Rozas and wife Margaret Vidrine of Carencro, Lynn Arthur Rozas and wife Cindy Olivier of Franklin and Anthony Rozas and wife Lauren Fraser of Chataignier; daughter, JoAnn Rozas Landry and husband Burley of Centerville; and 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Tessie Bertrand Rozas; grandson, James Anthony Rozas; sister, Earlene Stone; and his parents, Osmin and Anna Aucoin Rozas.
The family would like to thank all of the individuals who supported Mr. Rozas during his time of need.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in support of the seminarians and retired priests.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte, La.
