VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness that the family of Alvin W. McGee,87, announces his passing on Tuesday, April 02, 2013 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe his devoted son, Randy was at his side when he left this world to join his Savior in the next. A Funeral of Christian Burial will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel of Ville Platte at 4:00 PM Saturday, April 06, 2013 with Reverend Danny Hawthorne officiating the celebration of Alvins life. Burial will follow in The Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery of Pine Prairie.
Alvin was deeply devoted to his Lord, Jesus Christ he served as a deacon in various Baptist churches during his lifetime. He was passionate about spreading his Lords teachings and infinite love up until his last moments of life. He also served his country with great honor and pride will enlisted in the United States Navy.
Precious memories of Alvin will forever remain in the hearts of his loving family he leaves behind one son, Randy McGee and his wife, Renee, of Monroe. He was blessed with two grandchildren: Melissa Layne Coy and her husband, Nathan, of Shreveport and Lindsey Michelle McGee of Jackson, Ms. He was further blessed with two great grandchildren: Sean Russell and Aubrey Coy. He also leaves behind, one sister, Virginia Guillory and her husband, Coral, of Ville Platte and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all whom were lucky enough to have shared their lives with him.
He will reunite in Heaven with his beloved wife, Velma Greer McGee, his parents, Ezie and Virginia McGee and four sisters. They most certainly await his arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the McGee family, visitation will take place at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning Saturday, April 06, 2013 at 12:00 PM and continue until time of services.
