VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness that the family of Alphan Joseph Fontenot, 76, announces his passing on March 20, 2011 at his residence. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on March 23, 2011 at 3 PM at the Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the St. Andrew Cemetery in Plaisance with Pastor Bud Plake as Celebrant.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, Mr. Fontenot will be loving remembered by his wife of fiftynine years, Betty Dupre Fontenot, his son William Carl Fontenot and wife, Hope, of Livingston, his daughter, Jackie Alexander and husband, Steven, of French Settlement. Mr. Fontenot also leaves behind five grandchildren Michael Alexander, Steven Alexander, Elizabeth Branch, Rebecca Fontenot and Fernando Fontenot and ten great grandchildren.
Mr. Fontenot was employed with the Winn Dixie Corporation for over thirty years he was a generous and kindhearted man who always helped anyone in need. He knew no strangers and would open his heart and door to all he learned this compassion and selflessness from his beloved Church.
He now joins in Heaven his parents, Matt and Ella Fontenot and numerous brothers and sisters.
The family request that visiting hours be observed on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 11 AM until time of service, which will be held at 3 PM.
