Alice Delafosse

VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services will be held at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, for Alice Fontenot Delafosse, 89, who passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023.

Father Mitch Guidry will be celebrant of the Mass and conduct funeral services. Burial will take place in Gates of Heaven Cemetery.

Alice Fontenot Delafosse was born September 21, 1933, in Ville Platte, LA to Savoy and Amelie Catoire Fontenot. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and was a fabulous cook.

She is survived by her son, Ricky Delafosse and wife, Joan of Reddell, Anthony Delafosse and wife, Cindy of Bayou Chicot; and daughter, Rena Delafosse of Ville Platte; grandchildren, Michelle LeBleu, Kitty Jo Deshotel, Ginger Deshotels, and Josh Delafosse; and great grandchildren, Parker, Hayden, Gabrielle, Aubrey, Ellie, Iyla, Ivy, Beau, and Joseph.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Raphael J. Delafosse; and parents, Savoy and Amelie Catoire Fontenot.

At the request of the family, visitation will be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Ben Soileau on Wednesday at 11:00 AM.
