VILLE PLATTE - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of A. J. Guillory announces his passing on Monday, June 15, 2015 at Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Pine Prairie. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 3:15 PM at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Pine Prairie. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Peter's Catholic Church Cemetery with Fr. Richard Broussard celebrant.
Mr. Guillory proudly served his country in the United States Army. A loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather, A. J. will be fondly remembered by his wife of 69 years, Verla Fontenot Guillory of Pine Prairie, son Michael Guillory and wife Dorothy of Ville Platte, brother J. R. Guillory of Pine Prairie, sisters Effie Ardoin of Krotz Springs, Emily Charlie of Ville Platte, and LouAnna Guillory of Carencro. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his two grandchildren Toby Guillory and Carissa Guillory and four great grandchildren Taylor, Logan, and Alayna Guillory and Noah Godeaux.
He now rests in Heaven with his parents Rene and Elise Ortego Guillory.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Vile Platte on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on Thursday, June 18 beginning at 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited in his honor Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM.
